What to do with Cereal Boxes?

What would you do with mini cereal boxes? And a two year old at the same time? It also might be raining outside or just to stink'in hot to tolerate.

I would continue my endless fascination with coloring, doll houses, and blocks. Ta da I get to draw whatever I want on 'blocks' and play with my daughter. My baby is having a difficult time today. She can't express all the time what she wants so that means she just cries. This means I have to ask lots and lots of questions to get to the problem, and sometimes that means I just have to change the conversation. So let's just create some masterpieces.
You will need:
mini cereal boxes, or whatever size you have
newspaper
tape
black sharpie
crayons or markers

step 1 : wrap the boxes like presents with newspaper

step 2: draw what you like, trees, houses, people with the black sharpie marker. I also included words like "tree" and "house" to work on sight words.

step 3: hand over the crayons, color with your babies, have fun with the colors!

step 4: play time! make silly combinations like fishies or houses on top of trees. Play doll house with the people

What would you like to see me make a craft out of? Comment and I will give it a shot =)

Dirt Comes Clean

What are you doing today? While I wait for your answer today I'm thinking about a common phrase in my house.

'Dirt Comes Clean'

These 3 wonderful words helped many aspects of my life and marriage. How and why? Those words to me mean; have fun with the people you love in a way that makes you continue to love each other, don't sweat the dirt. There will be problems along the way so use the abilities you have in order to live your life. Problems can make your life hard but interesting at the same time. Dirt will come clean.

In my life at this moment it means playing with my kids using everyday things. Kids have great imaginations and will play with just about ANYTHING as long as you are playing with them. I use everyday things because they don't break the bank and I don't have to spend more time working away from my family. I haven't met a little glue or mud that won't come off.

It means less vacations, but TV all the time is boring. So hubby and I tackle some reasonable house renovations by ourselves. Like deciding to redo our privacy fence. It's great marriage counseling and it's fun to get dirty together for something we both work hard for.

Dirt Comes Clean is a figurative phrase as well. Early on hubby and I had a hard road to travel and we had to learn neither of us is perfect. Perspectives needed a little changing, our skills at forgiving needed a little practicing. We had to clean ourselves and each other up.

Don't avoid the Dirt..er work..er problems. Strive to have fun with what you have been given today. Sometimes it's everyday dirt but enjoy your life now, easy moments or hard ones. I had to learn that getting 'dirty' and facing my problems as well as the fun stuff makes for a great everyday life. Sometimes it's mundane but mundane isn't bad all the time.

So here's my blog about everyday life. I will try to post once a week. I'm searching for people that are in the same boat...that should be most of you. We all have to live our lives one moment at a time. So what are you doing today and how do you live your life?

Perspectives anyone?
